Design & Build are currently inviting applications from Building Surveyors who are interested in working for a regional council, located in north Victoria. This Shire, renowned for its natural beauty and vibrant community life has an immediate requirement for a Deputy Municipal Building Surveyor on a permanent basis.
As the Deputy Municipal Building Surveyor, working within the Planning & Environment Team, you will be tasked with delivering a full range of services within Building Control whilst shaping the direction this council takes in its long term objective towards building a sustainable community.
Duties will include:
· Managing and delivering a range of building services, including; building / occupancy permits and building notices
· Mandatory building inspections
· Managing and delivering infringement notices
· Attending to telephone and front counter enquiries from the general public
· Complaint management
· Providing after hours emergency building assistance
· Developing, guiding and mentoring junior members of staff
· Managing and developing various audit programs including; Essential Safety Measures, Fire and Swimming Pool Safety
Requirements include:
· Ideally registered or working towards registration as a Building Surveyor with the Building Practitioners Board
· Victorian driving license
